Adobe Digital Editions App Reviews

Worst app ever!!!

I have tried for years to use this app to check out library books. There is always one issue or another. I’d rather buy the book and download directly then go through the issues that this app presents. Not even a one star!!

Works, but bare bones

Hopefully, Adobe is working on an updated version of this app with full funtionality. One glaringly obvious feature missing is the ability to return a book to the library once youve finished reading it. Adobe: Please update this app and add this feature. Thanks.

The most user unfriendly app

It just simply does not work in iPad. Waste of precious time. Probably the old animosity between Apple and Adobe?

This is why piracy exists

When you actually take time and money to acquire something and then you can’t use it and have to find other ‘means’ to get it anyway. Makes you wonder why I bothered thru the first process in the first place!!!

CRAP! NEG 10 STARS

I downloaded it , and iTunes says it is D/l’d but I can’t find it anywhere! I can’t read this stupid book. I hate the library! do all government workers have to be such idiots? why can’t they ever do anything right? stay away unless you want frustration. I can’t afford to buy all these books so adobe FIX it!

Hasnt changed in over 7 years

I cannot believe this app hasnt been improved since about 7 years ago! It was a piece of #%*^# back then, and it STILL IS! Use Bluefire Reader instead... Its MUCH better and much less frustrating! Im deleting this crappy Adobe app right now!

Worst App ever!

What a circle of frustration! We are being held hostage and are unable to get access to audio books we have paid for because we cannot get this App to work! Hours of wasted time, have tried it on desktop, laptop, iPad and iPhone --- and have not gotten it to work. So much for having audio books for our family to enjoy on our roAd trip.

Embarrassment For Adobe

After long hours wading through user forums to find a working means of getting these library books to the iPad (we used the Overdrive App on the iPad and directly load from the library bypassing the Mac desktop altogether), we are greeted with a nice looking user interface that performs like a Yugo with a slipping clutch. Awful execution. I find it difficult that getting these popular library files to be used on popular iPads, is put to shame by a Kindle or Nook.

i hate it

how the hell am i supposed to read my book when this crap isn’t even showing itself anywhere although it says “downloaded"

Where is it?

I am told its downloaded but its not in my downloads. Where in the comp does it live? Any ideas? I really wanted to read this Ebook.!

Functional, but needs work.

Im using this app because I have NO CHOICE. ADE on my MacBook is borked and Adobe wont help because its free software. The app is getting me by, but as best I can tell, there is absolutely no way to delete books from the app. So my new books are hidden in a forest of old books and download files that I cant delete. Very frustrating.

Won’t even open?

Needed this for a library book download, will not open or accept the file? Absolutely bizarre, terrible app that does not perform the functions it is supposed to.

Doesnt work

Doesnt transfer files from pc

Back to basics: what is a menu??

I like the fact it runs a timer. I am using this with Kaplans DAT prep... The menu button in the top left corner only shows a scrambled list of text stacked on top of itself and I have no idea what menu options I even have. It would be nice to organize by folders and have the ability to delete the ADE content.

Can’t even locate it

I have an ebook for a course I’m taking that requires this app to be read. Unfortunately after 3 separate attempts to download and use this product I am incapable of finding it anywhere even though it says downloaded. It is in my list of apps but opening it is impossible. Can’t use it at all.

Take forever to search on my iPad Air 2

Compared to the Adobe PDF reader for iPad , this app take ridiculous amount of time to search simple text in similar doc. As the app is searching, I always found myself enough time to grab my laptop, open the same file, search and found, take notes and come back quitting the iPad app which is still "searching" hard. Worst Adobe product ever.

BUGS!!!

So much bugs, you need raid to use it! Downloads multiple copies of files (& if you delete one they both delete), lags, sometimes their logo doesnt go away & blocks 1/4 of a document making it impossible to read, sometimes it doesnt save the last page read correctly & Ill have to skip ahead to try to find where I was, the page options ie: font size , page color etc. dont save & you have to redo it everytime. Really disappointed. Thought it would be better considering the name behind it.

REALLY?!

Being an undergrad, i was looking for an app that would let me copy w/ citation like iBooks or Kindle. this is the worst app ever, It’s faster to write it out! what a waste of time. Adobe, don’t bother, fix the app or maybe a lot of this will begin to find a new industry standard, Remember what happened to Quark? refusing to change with a new technology = death. (Bluefire Reader isn’t any faster) Get to work Adobe and approach your clients or get out of the ebook business. Not happy since I would pay for a version that allow for citation copy, better highlighting, the ability to export notes, etc. Since Adope mucked this up, is there any app developers out there with a better product, or willing to make one?

can’t find a way to open it after it supposedly downloaded…. where the heck did it download it to?

have no clue how to open it! said to download through iTunes! yeah right. it said it downloaded it but i can’t find it anywhere. what do i do now? searched everywhere …. help!

Very poorly written app

Like most Adobe products, this one was written poorly. Every time I open the app, I have to reset the background. I increased the font, and instead of recounting the pages, it just doesnt advance page numbers. At least iBooks tells you the actual number of pages you have left in the book and adjusts for changes in font. Finally, there is a delay in the swipe of pages, so if youre flipping through to see how many pages you have left, you have to wait a second or two per page turn. These are basic issues that shouldnt be problems, but they are. Bravo Adobe - please fire all your programmers and hire better ones.
