Adobe Digital Editions App Reviews

Bof

A quand la version française ?

Horrible

It is just unbelievable how bad can it be. Its a nightmare change the pages and not possible to create folders to organize the library. As the copyright protected files cant be open in other app Im feeling a hostage in this junk.

Terrible

Terribly slow, almost impossible to use on iPad. I will not buy anymore books that require this reader

So far so good

I left a comment in my first week with this app (see below)... but now I must say I am too disappointed. Why is it that I cannot download my books and articles from an old to a new iPad?!? No wi-fi connection? No cloud? No export function? This means I will loose all my purchased library! Any solution? .... . Till now I had no problems... Easy access to table of contents, choose chapters, and change pages,... I have little experience with this app.... must try it a bit more to the point of classifying with stars... I usually use iBook, but it does not give access to restricted editions. I will be back to a star evaluation.

Not usable

Crashes constantly when opening book. :-(

Extremely Poor - unusable

Adobe really did not understand a thing. First you need to synchronize books manually from another device - cloud distribution anyone? Even worse: the bought! Ebooks (ITIL SOA) dont fit to screen in neither portrait or landscape. Even with combining both orientations you are unable to get all informations. There is also no zooming possible. (iPhone 6s) This is really the worst offering of one of the bigger companies (maybe except Adobe Flash...) This really is no concurrence to kindle or iBooks - unfortunately ITIL and PRINCE2 materials are exclusively electronically available on Adobe Shittical Editions

Anyone could do better

Im sadly forced to use this due to bad policy from a library. The document is drm encrypted and I could not find anything else that opened it. But Its the worst reading software I have ever seen. No annotations. No bookmarks not even automatic zoom on landscape mode. If you find something better please let me know. Adobe once again proves it sucks when its not photoshop and in design

so bad

This is the worst creation from Adobe EVER - they should completely re-work it as it is very nearly useless - once you do jump through all the hoops to install it, it crashes when you try to open the library book you are looking forward to reading. Its crap. Adobe!! Pay attention, you are getting a black eye for this poorly designed "reader".

Crap

Too big for what it does, doesnt support page after page vocal play, slow to respond AND INACCURATE text highlighting and selecting, FORCED to use this and not allowed to use better apps to read book. Update this junk and STOP FORCING PPL TO USE ONLY YOUR COMMIE SOFTWARE

very frustrating

Epub vendor required use of this app. A poor alternative for reading. Highlighting and note taking is hit or miss - it does not work more often than it does. Would not ever use this app by choice.

Too many problems...

It was difficult to open the book I have to study for school... The option forget you password, is really difficult to use, cause it open an help window than you clic on something and than you can reset your password... Its too long and too complicate for nothing.... When I use the app, its difficult to highlight. It takes lots of time before it appears than sometime highlighting something under a sentence alreaydy highlighed suppress what you did before... Finaly, Im asking, why isnt possible to write in the margin? When you anotate something, it appears in an another part of the app... It really is not appropriate...

I agree CRAP!!!!!

This does not work!!!

Poorest Reader Ever

This is the poorest reader that I have experienced. Changing the page is an adventure. When you expand the print the whole thing locks up and you cannot move up and down for reading. The whole thing is pure frustration.

Lousy app set up

I bought a Toronto Notes. The original Blue Reader is pretty lousy and slow so I tried to get rid of it downloading Adobe Digital Editions... Needed to "activate my device" and to verify it... My password did not work. Then reset the password was needed, but no the same one, another.... Finally I could not use my iPad to Check my TN book... a pain in the rear

Dont bother

Unable to transfer a epub or a pdf file with DRM, even though the app was "activated"... Even my age old kobo can do that!

Pathetic!

Sorry, but pathetic it is. Especially when you consider the software giant that is Adobe. You would think this app would allow a user to manage all those incredibly inconvenient DRM protected books that are forced on us by publishers. I want to be able to store all these books in one cloud account, regardless of who I purchased them from, and be able to download them directly to any device, read them and have functions to manage my library.

Wanted this to work

Cant delete books. Freezes Sometimes page turning does not work and you get stuck on a page. You have to close and reopen the app Easy to download books from library, book sellers. Cumbersome to transfer downloads between iPad-desk top-ereader. Not seem less . A lot of steps need to be taken. Would be great if you could transfer via wifi between devices and desk top. Need a way to be able to load books to an e-reader.

Good but could be better

The good news is I was able to copy from my MacBook app to my iPad app my entire 200+ ePub collection via iTunes sync. However the instructions that come with the app arent specific enough on how to do that if you havent used the special screen at the bottom of the iTune app display. There is a clear explanation on the Adobe user forum for this tho if you look. Bad news is that if youre reading something and shut down the app, when you go back later the app doesnt keep the book open you have to find it again. It does open where you left off, but unlike my Kobo reader the app does open by default to the book and page you were last reading.

Have to swipe to turn the page.

I suppose some UI designer thought it would be cool, but it isnt. Takes longer to turn a page and is aggravating for repetitive strain. This dominates the app, a book app needs to be good at page turning.

Doesnt load books

I loaded the desktop version of this app onto my Mac, loaded a book, then installed this app on my iPad and attempted to sync; FAIL. The book has not synced and its been over an hour. The "downloading content" message appears, the blue line reaches 100%, but nothing ever happens. So disappointing.
