Why does Adobe publish this junk?
Device: IPad mini I downloaded the app because I bought the Mahlers study manual for Exam C. It was the electronic version and needed to be viewed by this particular program for copyright reasons, blah blah blah. I have had no trouble so far. It downloaded quick and installed fine. I logged in with my Adobe account to authorize my iPad mini and it immediately downloaded the study manual without me telling it to. This may be a problem for others who may have a lot of files, but it wasnt for me. I have had no issues that prior posters have. It did take me a quick minute to figure out how to get to the menu while reading (tap near the top of the screen). That would be my only complaint so far as it wasnt clear or explained, but not enough to remove a star. Overall, it lets me read my 5500 page manual on my iPad on the go, so... Working as intended. Its all I needed it for.
I was able to read an ebook borrowed from a library just like I wanted. I really like that it records how long you have been reading throughout the week. The only thing that needs improving is that it leaves you at 99% when you have actually read to the last page. The ebook had parts missing-but I believe that was just the fault of the ebook, not this app. But overall Im satisfied and it worked as intended. Ill be using it more in the future.
Waste of space. Not worth the time it took me to find and remove it.
They should remove this app from the iTunes Store. I tried to use this app to download a library book but could not complete the authorization step because Adobe does not support this app anymore. I wasted an hour learning this.
This app does not work on macbook pros. I downloaded, but it’s not appearing
Don’t download, the app doesn’t show up.
while it says downloaded yet! and i need it for an etextbook! now i have to re-buy the etext elsewhere. don’t waste your time!!!!!!
It says its downloaded, but it won’t even show up ..
This app has no one option nor any iTunes transfer options for the iPad Air2. Thankfully, I can still access my books on other platforms.
Shame on Adobe. Doesn’t install properly.
Logged into my account and current library did not show up as promised. Major lagging when zooming and positioning content. No controls for advancing pages. Cant make notes. Cant click on or copy/paste links found in content. The best I can say is that it gives access to DRM content from library holdings.
not working on my imac. was going to use it to access my university’s online library. waste of time as I am trying to get my report done!
I am pretty computer-savy person, but I could not get this app to download through iTunes. Like other users describe below, the app page on iTunes would say “Downloaded” but the file did not exist on my computer. Tried this multiple times.
Where in my Macbook Air is this app? I will never know.
Im not one to review things but I had to review this. It doesnt work. I cant open anything in this app. Whenever I open a file it takes ,e to settings. This application works on my MacAir but not on my iPad which is where I need it most. What a disappointment.
It won’t let me open the document i’m trying to read, which says i have to use this..
I downloaded this app so I could read protected PDF files. It is easy to use and works as advertised. Yes, there could be more features, but I truly dont understand the high number of negative reviews.
The title says it all. Adobe continues to produce sheer filth in their Digital Editions product. It has one of the most dated UIs out there, the product is full of bugs and would not download my eBooks properly, and to top it all off Adobe provides ZERO support to the end user (forums-only support). Dont waste your time.
ADE is OK when it works, but any time I need to update my OS — watch out. I have a Nook e-reader for library books, but the EPUB format requires using ADE. I recently bought a new laptop and that was the last straw. My old version of ADE wouldn’t work, the new version wouldn’t work, so I finally said to hell with it, and bought a Kindle. Problem solved.
